Water birth?

Has anyone ever considered doing the water birth or done it?

I considered water birth and I used the pool for pain relief for labor. At the last minute I decided against it because I got cold! :lol: But I would recommend water as a form of pain relief.

I will definately be using the birthing pool as a form of pain relief. The reason being that 8yrs ago I broke my back in a serious riding accident (Thankfully the spinal cord was not affected, just the bones), I suffer from backpain
occassionaly and I do find water in a bath effective.

The backache is aggrivated with pregnancy, especially later pregnancy, and it was my m/w that suggested the pool as a form of pain relief and if I could handle it maybe deliver in the pool.

I dont know if I will definately have a water birth, but I do have it down as part of the birthing paln depending on how much I can handle the pain. If it was anything as painful last time I will be having an epi but you cant have a water birth with an epi.
