Just curious - if your child naps later or longer than usual, do you wake him or her up? Or do you let him or her sleep whenever you get the chance? :)

No way, not her afternoon anyway, If I let her sleep longer, she will never sleep at night time, or will go down later. Occasionally if I am tired in the morning and I dont hear her up at around 7am I will let her sleep in. I dont like her sleeping past 8am, which she has done on a few occassions. This then screws up her afternoon nap, then becomes a cycle for her bedtime.

Cat, I'm with you. If it gets past a certain time of day, I won't even let Julian think about taking any nap at all! He'd be up all night if he napped too long or too late. Not like I much have to worry about it, he's about 99.5% given up weekend naps at home.

 I let my kids nap however long they will! They could take a 430-530pm nap and STILL go down easily at 7pm :dunno: If they are that tired that they crash that late in the afternoon, usually for a 3rd nap, then they need it. If they nap that late it's never more than 1 hour and like I said, they are tired and will still go down at bedtime and sleep through the night.

I am thankful for that!

Nap??? What is that?? Joshua is the first one at school to pull out his mat and take a nap. At home on the weekends, it is a foriegn concept to him...

If he does by some rare chance zonk out it depends on what time he goes out if I just let him sleep or wake him up.

I always wake Wyatt up on the weekends. If I get up before him in the morning, usually around 7, then I wake him up. If he sleeps past 2 hours I wake him up, otherwise night time is awful.
When he was home with his daddy the week of the 4th and I had to work, he was staying up til 10 sometimes 11pm at nights because he took long naps and slept in late. It was difficult to get him back on his schedule, but now that he's back on I want to keep him that way.
