I make most of my baby food, and would love to swap recipes.

I made pureed chicken and broccoli and my twins loved it! They couldn't get enough.

This recipe makes enough for 3 days worth of food, about 3 - 4 ounces a serving.

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts cubed
Enough water to cover the chicken cubes in the pot (I use filtered water)
1 bunch broccoli florettes

Boil the chicken for about 20 minutes or until tender, let cool and save the broth. Steam the broccoli florettes and save the cooking water.

In a food processor, puree the chicken until it's smooth, adding the broth to create a creamy consistency and to add flavor. Store what you need to feed in a bowl, jar, whatever, and freeze the rest. I don't like the ice trays, and use the plastic Gerber fruit containers instead. I find they are the perfect size, and I also like that they are individual containers. Once you are done with the chicken and have cleaned out your food processor, puree the broccoli until it's smooth, using the cooking water. Store/freeze as above.

What I used was a 50/50 blend of the pureed chicken and broccoli. Like I said, my kids loved it!

broccoli cheese rice casserole

I made this and my kids loved it!

To make about 3 - 6oz servings (I have twins so this lasts me 3 meals), I used:

About a cup of whole milk
5 slices of Kraft American Cheese
about 3/4 c. of cooked rice
about 1/2 c - 3/4 c of steamed broccoli (very soft and cut up into small pieces)

Warm the milk on the stove over medium heat. When the milk is warmed, add the cheese and melt. Then add the rice and stir until mixed. Then add the broccoli and stir. Mash the broccoli up while stirring the mixture--it should be easy to do since it'll be very soft already. Keep stirring for about a minute then let cool and serve to baby.

Watch for big pieces of broccoli when serving it to your kids. You may want to take these out if they're not doing table foods yet.

Vegetable soup w/bits of chicken

You can use whatever vegetables you like with this soup, just be sure to dice them small enough for baby to eat comfortably. :)

1 ~ 14.05 oz can low sodium chicken broth
1 small yellow squash (diced into small pieces)
2 thin carrots (diced into small pieces)
2 stalks of celery (chopped into small pieces)
1/4 c. onion (diced into small pieces)
1/2 c. of cooked white meat chicken (diced into small pieces)

Pour everything into a sauce pan and let simmer on low for about 35 minutes or until the veggies are soft enough for baby.

Enjoy!

TEETHING BISCUITS FOR BABY
1 egg
1 Tablespoon honey or pure maple syrup
2 Tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon soy flour
1 Tablespoon wheat germ
1 Tablespoon instant nonfat dry milk
1 cup whole wheat flour, more if needed

Preheat the oven to 350 F. Use un-greased cookie sheets.

Put the egg in a large mixing bowl and beat well. Add the honey and sugar and blend. Add the salt, soy flour, wheat germ, dry milk, and whole wheat flour and mix thoroughly. Dust a working surface and your rolling pin with whole wheat flour, and have some extra handy. Roll the dough into a rectangle about 9 by 12 inches, and about 1/4 inch thick. Sprinkle the dough with a little whole wheat flour if it is sticky, lifting and moving the dough as you are rolling it out so it won’t stick to the surface.

Trim the edges neatly and cut the dough into strips 1 inch wide by 2 1/2 inches long. Place the biscuits on the cookie sheets about 1/2 inch apart.

Bake for 7 minutes or until colored on the bottom. Turn them over, using a spatula, and continue to bake for about 4 more minutes. Remove from the oven and cool on racks. Store in an airtight container or wrap well and freeze. Forty-five 1 x 2 1/2 inch biscuits.
