1st Birthday Parties

Did you invite both sides of the family to one party, or did you have 2 separate parties? If you invited both sides to 1 party, how did both of your families get along? If you had 2 parties, was one side of the family put off by the fact they weren't there on your baby's birthday?

Both sides were invited, but both sides didn't come due to the fact that my dad and Kevin get along about as well as gasoline and a match.

We just send out invites to my family and Michael's brother who lives in FLA. THe rest of Michael's family live in Ohio and they do not have the money to just come on down for a weekend. KWIM?

I'm inviting both sides to the same party. I'm almost 100% sure that not one person from DH's family will show. His brother says he will be there but I doubt he will. I know neither of his sister's will be there. If it weren't bad enough that there's a family feud, they normally didn't show for anything anyway. However, I know my family will be there (most of them). One of my sisters will be driving from Arkansas that weekend just for the party!! I'm so excited.
