We use Desatin or Weleda Diaper Rash Cream with alomst every change and that helps. Also Seda's Dr. sugested a 20 to 1 solution of water and vinegar, as a wipe solution. That definately helps. Is he teathing? Seda gets really bad daiper rash when she is cutting a tooth.

We've been doing desitin with not much luck, I guess I'm just not using it consistently enough. We've been using Vaseline since we brought him home at the advice of the hospital, I switched to Desitin the last couple of days b/c it doesn't seem to be getting better.
He's been drooling and gnawing for 2 months... if this isn't teething then I have some sort of dog or goat on my hands... I see no evidence of a tooth anywhere near the surface though. We'll see. I'll just try changing more frequently. And as soon as I get to a store I'll try the vinegar.
Thanks!
I've used Aquaphor and it does a good job.

I've used Aquaphor too and it has helped, although, our diaper rash hasn't been too severe, thank goodness. I was talking to a friend of mine tonight, and she said that the dimethecone in DEsitin and others seems to cause an adverse reaction with her twins. She also said that A & D ointment works for her.
Good luck and keep us posted. :)

I hope the Diaper Rash has gone away by now. Tyler also had really bad diaper rash last week that we couldn't get to go away. We tried A & D and Vasaline and that did nothing. We toke him to the Doctors for his 9 Month Check Up and the Doctor said it was either Strep or a Yeast Infection. He gave Tyler 2 antiboitics and it was gone the next day. The Doctor also said when all else fails try using Neiosporin (sp?).

Thanks for all the help! It is mostly gone... I ended up putting a tiny dab of hydrocortisone on it... He had a rash developing right down the front of his chest, like underneath the neck, and the Dr said that most babies are allergic to the zinc that most zippers and snaps are made of. If the front is getting wet from drool, feedings, etc, the wet metal rubbing against it could cause an allergic reaction, and that hydrocortisone would clear it up. It worked within a day, and I tried a tiny bit on the persitent area of diaper rash, and that went away too! Today I just picked him up from my MIL (who is watching him since I went back to work yesterday >sniff< ) and he has an awful rash on his chin, and partly on his cheeks. I don't know if this is the drooling, or if he is irritating himself with things he is chewing on, or if her wiping his drool is giving him a rash, but it is really bad... will see what I can use to clear that up...
Thanks for all the great input!
