I did! It worked nicely, and it was heaven! I didn't like the fact that I could still feel pressure though :(

:laughing2 I remember the anestesiaologist and I debating what "pressure" was.
I had an epidural too. I had planned on laboring naturaly but after 10 hours I got the epidural and Seda was born 2 hours later.

I had planned on going without one, but my high blood pressure conspired to keep that from happening. I labored with pitocin for about eight hours before my doc recommended me getting an epidural so he could up the pitocin and break my waters to try to get things moving. It was really no big deal to get, just a little sting from the numbing shot and then blessed pain relief! My doc walked in the room after the epidural had kicked in and said that was the first time he'd seen me smile all day. I ended up having a c-section, and they really loaded me up with drugs then, so I can't speak to feeling pressure - I just felt jostled around a lot. If I ever have another child, I'll definitely get an epidural.

I had an epidural right from the start b/c of health reasons. I was induced on it for an hour before my doctor decided that a Csection would be more appropriate. They couldn't monitor my daughter's heart rate properly b/c she was moving around too much. The reason I was induced at all was b/c they tought they found Jenna's heart rate, but it turned out to be mine! Anyway, even with a mega dose of drugs, I felt a lot of pressure during my Csection.

With baby #1, I did, but it didn't help because I had back labor. Baby #2, I did, and it was a HUGE help!! Baby #3 & #4 were both scheduled c-sections, so I had spinals.

I went completely natural and it HURT (especially after they broke my water at 4cm's) but I'm really glad I did it!

I did after getting to 7 cm in 4 hours on my own! It was the most amazing relief ever and I was in heaven. I'd do it again in a minute but in the end I ended up with a C-section because my daughter was face up.

After being induced with pitocin for my 1st I got 10 hours of labour before my blood pressure shot up so high they told me it wasn't even an option and I had the epidural.. I HATED IT! it worked TOO well and I was so numb i felt i was falling off the bed, I asked them to turn it off which they complied too and it took 3 hours before I could feel another contraction I was told I was the first person to ever ask to have it turned off!
I didn't have any with my 2nd labour, I lasted the whole time (thank god my blood pressure didn't rise) but when I ended in another C-section after 21hrs labour I had a spinal

I had an epidural... I wanted to try and go as long as I could without one - I don't think I went very long before I said - Give it to me!!! It was worth it!

i loved having an epidural. I didn't want my husband to touch me when I was in labor, but I wanted to kiss my anestesiaologist by the time my epidural kicked in!!!

I did not have one with either birth. With Elizabeth, I was induced and had Stadol at 8cm. ( which did nothing but make me loopy) I still felt all the pain just "slept" between contractions.
With Joshua I did it all natural and was very proud of myself! :)

All natural is cool, but it's just not for me! I respect ya for it, though!!!!
My water broke at midnight and I didn't go to the hospital until around noon the next day! I was already 5 1/2 centimeters by the time I got there! I was more than ready for an epidural! It only took me 45 minutes to get from insertion of the epidural to being 10 centimeters! Then I pushed for 2 1/2 hours and wound up having an emergency c-section!
The first time I went more or less natural, just using gas and air and it hurt like hell. Unfortunately my labor and contractions started to slow down at 5cms so the midwife gave me a shot of pitosin to progress me on.
After an hour I was in agony and screaming out for an epidural but when the m/w checked me she said I was 8cms and too late to have one!
This time, I am demanding the drugs, all of them!

I'm the kind of person...I'd like to order my epidural like...oh...a couple months in advance. ;)
Unfornuately it doesn't happen that way for me.
With my first, I was induced. I had to get to 4cm before they'd let me have an epidural. They started my induction at about 6pm thursday. I didn't get my epidural until about 4pm Friday...and she was born at 9pm.
With my second, I went into labor on my own at 2:35am on Tuesday. I get to the hospital and I'm 4cm. Well then he said he wanted to make sure I was progressing on my own so wouldn't let me have the epidural until I was 5cm. Lucky me...my labor stalled overnight and I didn't get to have the epidural until after noon on Wednesday. I was SO upset!
My labors progess quickly after I get the epidural. And it's just so much more comfortable. I love the epidural. With my next baby...pretty much as soon as I'm pregnant, I'm telling my doc that I'm getting my epidural when I walk through the door. ;) I'm not letting them give me any pitocin with out it...that's for sure!

My anesthesiologist told me that it's never to late to have one...:dunno:
My anesthesiologist is great. He and my doctor are both awesome guys..

I didn't like how the epidural hurt so bad going in. I was rushed in for emergency csec and they thought they were just going to have to knock me out b/c everytime he stick me, it hurt so bad that my back went straight automatically. I tried to control it after the 1st time so I wouldn't have to get it again but I couldn't! Then, I didn't like how it made me shake afterwards and how I tried to move my legs after the surgery but couldn't. My arms were literally bouncing off the table and I couldn't control them!
Good thing I am not getting pg again! :)

Went natural as long as I could (was induced with pitocin) with Libby, and it was around the 5-6cm mark that I had to call it quits and get an epidural drip.
Unfortunately, the tube must have been inserted more to one side, because only half my body was numb while the other half was in pain. Afterwards, Rich had to literally lift me to the bathroom, because my one side (I can't remember which leg) was completely numb for nearly a day after Libby was born.
(hoping to go further along naturally with this 2nd birth!)
