I didn't get AF until my children were about 6 months old. I've heard that the first time after delivery usually can be pretty bad, but mine wasn't. It was normal and predictable for me--light the first day, heavier the 2nd and 3rd, and then light again the 4th and 5th. That's not the case anymore! Since then, I've had two cycles, and they've been awful! It starts out light for about half a day and then lasts heavy for about 4 -5 days and then light for about 2- 3 days after that! Ugh! So, it's not only heavier, but lasts longer. I wonder if it'll every get back to normal??

What has your experience been?

AF's before I had Kalynn were predictable and always on time. They were heavy, with horrid cramps, and lasted 5 to 7 days. Now, they're weird.. It can vary from coming every 28 days to 32 days. They are much shorter now, but they are heavier. And it's still like this and Kalynn's almost 2!

My AF are alot worse now, than before Tyler. I never used to get cramps. Now I have days of cramps and sometimes they are so strong I feel like I'm in labor. It is also alot heavier than it used to be. AF came back when I was 4 weeks PP (I stoped bleeding at 3 weeks) and I'm ready for her to be gone again for 9 Months (but we are not ready for Baby #2 yet, so I guess I will have to deal).

My AF's seem to get worse after each child. After Andrea, I got AF back right away, and it was fairly heavy, but not too bad. The past few months (since coming off of birth control) my cycles have FINALLY been regular, and a little more predictable than in the past.

Okay, so I have to share. I finally had a "normal" AF. It was the first that was like what I was accustomed to. About 5 days long and a 3 heavy days. Yay! I'm so glad. I hope it stays that way. :yippee: I've hated that it was longer and heavier since I delivered, so hopefully my body is getting back to normal.

Mine are like this although lighter rather than heavier and only last 2-3 days, I hate that my cycles are erratic as we are TTC again.

AF returned to me 11 months after Elizabeth's birth just like it always was awful cramps the first 2 days then 3 days of just blah! LOL.

Since I am still nursing Josh, AF has not made an appearance and hopefully I will be lucky and she will stay away for a few more months!

My cycles ended up lasting as long as 40 days...one year after Aiden was born. The first month after I stopped bfing him...the AF I got was something horrid. Then after that...it was ok. Every other month it would alternate and as long as I was on the pill they were regular. As soon as I came off they stretched from 32 - 40 days.

Af showed up while I was in the hospital a few weeks ago. Only lasted a few days and was rather light compared to my normal heavy cycles. Now that Josh is almost 7 months I have had to wean Josh due to health issues on my part, I will wait and see if AF makes another appearance this upcoming month.
