Positive Discipline Ideas

Age 4.5 is pretty tough. There's so much back talk and sassing from the twins. I requested some books from the library hoping I'll be able to deal better with this situation. I'm tired of yelling and timeouts because they just don't seem to be effective in curbing the behavior. I want to be able to really reach my children and have them hear me the way I do hear them or atleast try to. *sigh*

What do you do to implement positive discipline?
