UB/OUH just closed and I found myself full of emotion. I thought I would start this thread so that some of us former UB/OUHers can talk about it.

I started with UB almost 3 years ago. Eveyone was so supportive and I enjoyed getting to know everyone and getting support through my pregnancy and Seda's first year. It was because of the wonderful support that I received there that started AwesomeBabies.com.

I wondered if this would appear, and be allowed.
I was at the chat and I have to agree with many of the ladies - while all the offspring boards are great, I hate that everyone is all split up now. Some of my friends went to OLU and some to OUAL and I can't go to both because of the fees...it's very sad.
I haven't started a journal anywhere because it doesn't feel right at any one place...not that I had a lot of followers but I liked it because it was a way for me to record a lot of the things happening in our lives. Now all I can do is think about what I want to post but I have no place to do that yet!

This is exactly what I was thinking. I started with UB a few months before we TTC our 4th (early 2001?), and I met SO many people and made some wonderful friends. My playgroup is over at OUAL, and I pop in from time-to-time, but because of the fee, once they switch over, I probably won't be able to stay. I'm hoping that I can make some new friends here... eventually start a journal, and maybe even TTC #5!!

UB was my home for a very long time! The community supported me through my IF journey and then 4 years later, celebrated with me when I had my precious twins, Jonathan and Jenna. When I first heard that UB was closing, I was devastated. I've learned to accept that it's gone, but it will always be a part of me. Like all of you, I hate that the community has splintered, but I guess that was to be expected. :(
I'm really glad that AwesomeBabies.com is here! I like the supportive aspect and the variety that this community offers. :)
