Hello,
I wanted to take a some time and post on here why I created this site and what my goals are for it. I used to and actually still do post at UB. I was introduced to the ultimate community when I was planning my wedding back in 2000 and posted on UW. Soon after our wedding, in 2001, DH and I decided to start trying to conceive. That is when I started posting with at TTC journal at UB which turned into a Pregnancy Journal and then a Parenting journal. This continued happily until recently when the announcement was made that the UB and OUH communities were closing in Nov. 2004. This announcement knocked me over because I had relied on my friends at UB for support through my pregnancy/playgroup and used the wealth of knowledge located there to help me when I had questions about parenting etc. Once I accepted the fact that UB/OUH would be no more I decided to take a chance and try to create a community on the web, a place for people from UB and beyond that would be a safe and supportive place to discuss preconception, pregnancy, parenting and other child related issues.
