I have been BFing and pumping for about 12 months now. 2 weeks ago we switched Seda to bottles of cow's milk during the day so I'm not pumping at work anymore. I am still nursing at night and in the mornings and still no AF. I know she's coming but I'm not sure when :hmmmm:. I was just wondering when AF returned for everyone?

If I remember correctly, AF returned for me when I was about 8 weeks PP. I was exclusively nursing until my dd was almost 6 months old-without pumping. I had about three AF's once it returned and they were long cycles-about 43 days apart! I got PG again when Emma was 6 1/2 months and I continued to nurse her until she was 12 months old. I started her on whole milk at nine months, though, because my milk supply had really gone down from being PG.

Still haven't REALLY got her Jenn... I am also on the depo shot, so I am not sure if that is causing it too. I have spotted every once in a while, but never had a real AF. Landon stopped nursing 2 weeks ago. Although I am still pumping one bottle each day for him to have at night.

I can't beleve that I haven't gotten it yet. Not that I'm asking for it but it's strange. It just needs to come back eventualy so we can TTC our second but that won't be until 2005 :( We are going to wait until DH is out of school and we have a house.

AF came at about 4.5 months PP. That's when we started solids and she didn't nurse as often :)

Ok I just thought I would come back and post that I still don't have AF and while I welcome the break it kind of creeps me out. I nurse Seda once before bed and once during the night that's it. On the 8th I will be 13 months PP with no AF. I must say at this point I will be happy to have her back but annoyed at the same time.

That is a pretty long time, considering how infrequently you & Seda bf. I still haven't, either, but we bf very frequently. Night feedings are generally what governs the return, but if you have a marked decrease during the day, that could be enough to trigger the return, too.

Just popping in to suggest that you check with your OB/gyn Jenn. It wouldn't hurt. 13 months is a long time and may not be a good thing for your body. JMHO. :)

I'm 14 weeks pp and still haven't gotten af back...I nurse about 8 times a day, but Bran also has decided to refuse to bf and get a bottle instead during the afternoon, so he's nursing primarily in the middle of the night (yep...5-6 times a night! )

I just got mine back on Monday (from Jan 2003... how depressing) after 2 weeks of working full time and just as DS turns 6 mos this week. Ugh. Didn't miss that at all.

I got mine fairly soon as well (4-6 week PP I think). I was exclusively BFing (no pumping) too... thought I'd at least get a "little" break from her!! I agree, that if you haven't gotten AF, and you have considerably slowed down BFing, that you may just want to mention it to your OB/GYN and see what he/she has to say... especially if you want to TTC another soon. :)

I got AF back at exactly 9 weeks PP. I'm exclusively BF and wasn't expecting AF anytime soon.

I just got mine back at the end of January so I was 17 months PP. I stopped BF DS when he was 15 months.
