Post your favorite and not so favorite restaurants, and what you liked/disliked about them. Be sure to list where they're located. :)

One of my absolute favorite resteraunts is the Longhorn Steak House (the one we go to is in Leominster, MA, but I think it's a chain.) They have the best salmon and steak combo dish! I get it every time we go! And the service is EXCELLENT! The waiters and waitresses are SO friendly! OH, the have the best appetizer too... the Texas Tonion (?sp).... soooo yummy!! :lick: Oooooh.... I'm gettin' hungry!

As for least favorite... I'll have to think on that...

One of my Favorite Restaurants is Outback Steakhouse (it's a Chain Restuarant). I love there Aussie Cheese Fries (it's an appitizer that has French Fries with Cheese and Bacon on top and you dip it in this Yummy Ranch Dressing). I also love the little loaf of bread they give you (can you tell we eat there to much).

Another one of my Favorite Restaurants is Bennigans (another Chain Restaurant). I always get there Chicken Strips and French Fries (they are Yummy). They also have a Great Kids Menu with very decent prices (kids meal comes with main food, veggie, drink and cookie for $3.99). They also have the Best Dessert called Death by Chocolate (anything with a title like that has to be good). It's chocolate ice cream cake with a frozen chocolate shell and it comes with hot fudge to dip it in. Very Good.

If you're ever in Dallas and want to splurge on a really good steak, I recommend Pappas Bros. Steakhouse. The service was outstanding (I think our waiter had two tables, ours and one other), and the steak was so tender you could cut it with a fork. The dessert I had, called a Moon Pie, was just to die for - chocolate, of course, with homemade marshmallow bits. Mmm, yummy.

And if in New Orleans, I recommend Commander's Palace. Again, excellent service and food that just can't be described. Their bread pudding souffle with whiskey sauce is worth the price of admission. :)

Ruth's Chris is sooo yummy. It's a steakhouse (small chain) but has teh BEST chicken dish. Their Shrimp brochette appitizer is super yummy too :D

A larger chain (currently only in TX) is saltgrass. I LOVE the beer bread and baked potato soup :)

My favorite is a local place called, Oak Island. They have the best shrimp, scallops and steak that I have ever eaten.

I really like the food at Manny's Uptown Tex Mex in Addision, Texas, but the last time we went, the service was horrendous.:( I haven't been back since.

Oh and Outback steakhouse is one of our favorites! It's where I go when I want to really have a good steak! We don't eat red meat as much as we used to so it's a treat for us to go. Both Jason and I also love their chopped blue cheese salad--yum. :lick:

A new twist on Tex-Mex - Veracruz Cafe (http://www.guidelive.com/portal/page?_pageid=33,97400&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL&item_id=24347) in Cedar Hill, Texas. This is not Tex-Mex. The restaurant bills itself as "Mesoamerican, Mayan, Huasteco and Aztec cuisine", and it is some kind of good. You know when you go eat Tex-Mex, you come out feeling like you've gained ten pounds? Not so with Veracruz. It's a lot lighter than traditional Tex-Mex, and it's oh, so tasty. :lick: The chile relleno is really good, as are the scallops - oh, heck, I've never had anything bad there. There's also a Veracruz in the Dallas Arts District, so if y'all don't feel like driving as far south as Cedar Hill, you might check out that one. :)
